BHOPAL, MADHYA PRADESH : In a landmark step toward environmental sustainability and judicial civic pride, the Bhopal District Court is set to become the first court complex in Madhya Pradesh to officially implement a "Plastic-Free Court Premises" initiative. Drawing inspiration from successful green judicial models like those established in Andhra Pradesh, this public interest campaign marks a significant structural and ecological milestone for the legal fraternity in Central India. The pioneering initiative aims to establish a cleaner, greener space for advocates, litigants, and judicial officers alike, setting a powerful precedent for other public institutions across the state.
The initiative has been set into motion through a proactive contribution by prominent Bhopal advocate Anurag Dubey, who has donated five heavy-duty, bottle-shaped iron wire-mesh plastic bottle collectors. Strategically installed throughout the court campus, these eco-bins are designed to streamline waste disposal, visually encourage recycling, and curb the menace of single-use plastic. This public interest drive directly reflects the progressive vision Dubey brings to the legal community, coinciding with his candidature for the vital post of Sachiv (Secretary) in the upcoming District Bar Association elections, where his focus remains anchored on institutional welfare, modernization, and social responsibility.
