implementing insurer under the Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana (PMFBY), will
actively participate in the nationwide ‘Crop Insurance Month’ campaign. This
month-long enrolment drive for the Kharif 2026 season will take place from 1st
to 31st July 2026, as part of PMFBY’s initiative to enhance farmer awareness
and expand insurance coverage across the country.
As part of
the campaign, SBI General Insurance will undertake extensive awareness and
outreach initiatives across 9 key states - Madhya Pradesh, Karnataka, Uttar
Pradesh, Odisha, Maharashtra, Assam, Uttarakhand, Tamil Nadu & Jharkhand.
Through these efforts, the company aims to improve understanding of crop
insurance, encourage enrolment under PMFBY, and support farmers in making
informed decisions for the Kharif 2026 season.
SBI General
Insurance has planned a series of on-ground engagements, such as Fasal Bima
Pathashala, large-scale farmer workshops, and Kisan Melas, to educate farmers
on the benefits of crop insurance. It will also conduct special workshops for
women farmers and organize awareness sessions in schools and colleges to build
early understanding among youth. In addition, training programmes for
agri-extension workers and banking correspondents, along with PMFBY enrolment
and claims assistance camps, will be conducted to simplify access and
participation.
To strengthen grassroots outreach,
these efforts will be supported by door-to-door awareness drives and
distribution of educational materials. Community engagement activities such as
bike rallies, street plays, nukkad nataks, wall paintings, and gram sabha
announcements will further amplify awareness. Also, outdoor media including
hoardings, banners, and posters will be deployed to enhance visibility and
connect with farmers at the community level.
