Demands for Arrest of BJP Mandal President Intensify; Ultimatum Issued for Massive Protest on January 5

Singrauli : The political atmosphere in Singrauli district has become significantly heated following demands for the arrest and expulsion of the BJP Mandal President of Morwa, Vinod Singh Kurvanshi. On Friday, members of the Akhil Bharatiya Baiswar Mahasangh and several BJP workers staged a strong protest, extending from the streets to the organizational office, expressing their deep dissatisfaction with the police's handling of the matter. The controversy traces back to an incident on December 26 in front of the NCL Headquarters, where Kurvanshi and his associates allegedly brutally assaulted Satyanarayan Bais, the son of contractor Shankar Prasad Bais. Although the Morwa police have registered a case against seven individuals under various sections of the BNS, the victim's community and party workers claim that stringent legal actions have not been taken and the charges filed are insufficient given the severity of the offense.

During the demonstration, protesters raised slogans against the leadership at the BJP district office and submitted memorandums to District President Sunderlal Shah and Member of Parliament Dr. Rajesh Mishra. The workers have issued a clear ultimatum stating that if the arrest is not made, the criminal charges are not upgraded, and organizational action is not taken before January 5, they will surround both the Superintendent of Police (SP) office and the BJP district headquarters. Political observers suggest that the silence of the police and the organization could lead to a more explosive situation, potentially creating an internal crisis for the party. Currently, all eyes are on the January 5 deadline, as the symbolic protest threatens to transform into a large-scale public movement.
