The
new add-on offers customers added peace of mind as India transitions to
evolving fuel technologies
Mumbai: Zuno General Insurance, a new-age digital insurer
committed to making insurance easy, friendly and transparent, has introduced Fuel
Guard, an industry-first car insurance add-on designed to give customers an
additional layer of protection as India moves towards greater adoption of
approved blended fuels.
With increasing
adoption of blended fuels, vehicle technologies are evolving too. Fuel Guard is
designed to provide additional protection for specified engine and fuel-system
components in the event of accidental and unforeseen damage caused directly by manufacturer-approved
blended fuel, giving car owners added peace of mind.
The cover is eligible for private cars registered on or after 1 April 2023,
where the vehicle manufacturer has approved the specific blended fuel being
used. The vehicle must also be maintained as per the manufacturer’s prescribed
maintenance schedule, with no unauthorised engine or fuel-system modifications.
Fuel Guard can be opted for with applicable private car package, stand-alone
own damage and bundled policies, including 3-year long-term policies.
Shanai Ghosh, MD
& CEO, Zuno General Insurance, said, "At its core, Fuel Guard is built around a simple
idea: as the mobility ecosystem evolves, insurance protection needs to evolve
with it. At Zuno, we continuously look at how changes in mobility are shaping
customer expectations and ownership experiences. Fuel Guard reflects our effort
to translate those insights into simple, practical solutions that make
protection more relevant in everyday life."
With Fuel Guard, Zuno
further strengthens its focus on customer-centric motor protection, building on
its innovation-led approach through offerings such as Zuno SmartDrive,
and introducing solutions that address specific aspects of vehicle ownership as
customer needs evolve.
